NASA premiered its trial by fire video to give Orion followers a glimpse of what the Orion’s launch will be from start to finish. It describes in detail the Orion’s dangerous flight into deep space and the extreme temperatures it’s set to go through on its journey leaving earth and into space. As for updates the Orion is completely prepped and ready for lift off, 3 days from now for its uncrewed flight test that will take it 3,600 miles above Earth on a 4.5-hour mission to test many of the systems necessary for future human missions into deep space. After two orbits, Orion will re-enter Earth’s atmosphere at almost 20,000 miles per hour, and reach temperatures near 4,000 degrees Fahrenheit before its parachute system deploys to slow the spacecraft for a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean.
